If not painfully apparent already, you'll notice I've made some aesthetic changes to the blog. I've also sort of alluded to the fact that I can probably shake the "novice" in the CONS title. After 9 years of surfing I think it's OK to accept that I'm not a novice any longer. That doesn't mean I don't suck as a surfer - don't get me wrong. But my knowledge and skills (limited abilities aside) are definitely in the "average" category these days. That basically means I can paddle out, duck dive, read waves, observe etiquette and so forth but still can't do
shit on a wave. Hey...at 45 that's still OK in my book. Those that disagree can suck it. :-)
3 Drop-Ins:
Whiff, you been out lately? Local surf has been walled. Not sure if you've had any luck by the jetty or not.
Whiffleboy, i agree, you can cross out the novice on the title. and at 45, what more can you ask for? i think good manners in and out of the water is the start and end of any surfer's right of passage
I think since I didn't pick this sport up until I was 36, I'm doing OK. :-)
